The most agonising sleep for a giant is undoubtedly that of oblivion, plunged into the night with no prospect of waking up. This is often how giants die.

But where does the giant Curo sleep? What has become of him? In 2020, while researching a project about Cureghem, I met Marcel Jacobs – knowledgeable historian of Anderlecht. It was during our conversation that he talked about the disappearance of the giant Curo, lost, forgotten in a basement somewhere….I immediately saw the potential to create a project with the local residents around the disappearance of this giant.

Looking for Curo’ is an investigation, a way of reviving this giant – of creating stories and, why not, other giants. An excuse to revisit existing folklore as well as creating new folklore, which represents today’s population of Anderlecht.
